Inside the bailout meeting

This article provides some really interesting context to the apparent disharmony between Obama and McCain that was evident last night during the debate. Apparently, the Democrats–with Obama chosen as their spokesperson–intentionally sought to pit McCain against the Republican House leadership during the bailout meeting with President Bush. It sounds like the Democrats very deftly negotiated that meeting and McCain is frustrated that his petty attempt at playing the leader ended up a miserable failure. Once again, Obama played it cool and ended up owning McCain.
